The Lebaniego Way
A route through tradition, nature, and faith
Words: Diana Morello - Photography: Camino Lebaniego - Gema Fernández López
In a land where the peaks kiss the clouds and the valleys guard cen-
turies-old stories, the Camino Lebaniego presents itself as an expe-
rience that transcends a mere pilgrimage route. Declared a World
Heritage Site in 2015 and set to become the epicentre of the Jubilee
of Religious Tourism in 2025, this 72-kilometre journey between San
Vicente de la Barquera and the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Lié-
bana becomes, year after year, a voyage inward: from landscape to
soul, from past to present, from faith to fulfilment.
